Well I'm packing all the valve stuff away for modification. The pre and power are going for serious modification. The SME 3012 is being a little shit and refusing to work so it's taking a trip to J7 at AO. This means no more guzzling single malt and listening to jazz through the Tannoys :wah: but it does mean probably drinking lots of wine and real ale and listening to Prog and heavy rock over on the SS system.

Learn to love jazz on the solid state system - might make you appreciate some jazz differently or even appreciate different jazz altogether. I don't see why Jazz can't sound like prog intentionally from the artist/recording's point of view - you could be listening to it not as intended.

Or you could just listen to jazzprog fusions and get the best of both worlds. Try SVARTRECORDS.COM.

If jazz needs valve amps and prog needs solid state amps than logically jazzprog fusion needs hybrid valve/solid state amps.

Your going to need a third system.
