Hi All,

I am after having a new Platter made from Acrylic for my Pioneer Motor.
The Motor is the PXM-030. The Model it was from includes the PL-530.

The Company making the new Platter need to know the angle of the taper on the Motor Shaft.

Can anyone help with this? Has someone worked it out previously or has some information on the Motor. I have a Schematic for it but it doesn't go into technical engineering details.
Does anyone know how to work it out from the Shaft, accurately enough to be supplied to the makers of the new Platter?

Any help appreciated, thanks,

James.

To work it out you really need some vernier callipers. Measure the diameter of the top of the taper, then the bottom and finally the length.

Thanks Mark,

yes I've done that but the manufacturer of the Platter says that won't be accurate enough and really needs the Angle.

May have to stick with the Metal one!

If it was me, I'd consider making a cast of some sort and work off that. Only one side or one half of the shaft taper would need to be impressed into the casting medium to provide sufficient info to measure.
