View Full Version : MM Phono to pair with Croft 25 and RP3
Hi all,
I'm in the process of building my first TT system. So far I have a RP3 (Elys2), Croft 25 (line out), Quad 306 and Q Accoustics 3050 floorstanding speakers. Does anyone have a recommendations of phono that could pair well in this system? I was hoping to spend less than £300 (new / used).
Thank you!

It was way ahead of my Trichord Dino with Dino+ power supply, and I also prefer it to the highly rated Hagerman Bugle2. Do a bit of reading around & you'll see how well-regarded it is.
Boris is a great guy to deal with, you'd also need a 12VAC adapter. I use a beefy one from Mascot.

If your Croft Micro 25 has an internal MM phono stage, you are very unlikely to find anything to equal it for £300.

The croft internal MM stage is excellent. I'd say you'd need to pay easily more than £300 to better it.
Unfortunately it's the line only version, so no internal phono. I got it for a little over £200 in excellent condition, so cant complain too much. I was thinking of holding out for a secondhand Croft RIAA as there £500 new but wasnt sure if there was another good option out there?

I can supply you a demo RIAA but it will be a bit more than £300.
Alternatively, you could get the Micro 25 mod'd to phono.
