LS3/5a Speakers - Stirling Broadcast - Mint Condition - Rosewood Finish

Here we have for sale my lovely LS3/5a speakers

These are the Stirling Broadcast models which many consider as the very best sounding LS3/5a's available which might, amongst other things, be due to these speakers not being very old unlike other LS3/5a's

These are in the more expensive Rosewood finish and can be bi-wired

They have matching serial numbers, as shown in the picture of the original Owners Certificate

I have just purchased, at a cost of more than £40, the original Stirling Broadcast packaging which consists of an outer box, and inner box and new plastic bags for the speakers, please see picture of the invoice

These LS3/5a speakers have never been driven hard at all and have been very well cared for indeed and therefore are in mint condition. They are from a pet and smoke free home

I will take some better pictures of the speakers and will post them here asap

I'd like £850 for the speakers and I absolutely will not use a cheap courier service to have these speakers delivered so reckon on about £55 for delivery. They could also be heard and picked up from Portsmouth, PO2

They are pretty good. At least my pair of Stirlings is excellent.

Although I have P3ESRs, LS3/5as do have a special 'something' that I still miss.

To give a sort of 'update', a friend has a pair of Spendor 11ohm LS3/5as and a pair of Falcon Kit 15ohm LS3/5as which I built for him.
After careful listening he does think the Falcons have the edge on the Spendors.

I have never directly compared two makes of '3/5as so I cannot comment,
but the 15 ohm pairs I've owned did sound the same as far as I can recall.

Having said all that, these Stirlings are tempting me...

Some interest from foreign buyers on eBay but I won't post to Asia after a bad experience in the past!

I have now weighed the speakers in their double boxes and have worked out an accurate postage cost

I can have these posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm next day, which is my prefered method, for £42.20 (at cost) which is fully tracked and insured up to £1,000
