Well I have arrived in Nicosia and moved in the old bungalow my wife inherited.

I have through Lounge- Dining Room 8m x 4m with an arch separating the two halves of the room. It narrows to 3m with a height just over 2m (so it's not realy an arch at all, just a lintel), and yes the general ceiling hight is great, 3m. 1952 build in dressed stone walls 16" thick. Wooden floors which will probably be carpeted.

I guess the optimum position for my large floorstanding speakers is in the "arch" facing into the lounge. They will have lots of room to breath. The rear of the speakers is as finely finished as the front and the cable entry is underneath and invisible. No domestic issues.

A TV could sit in the corner of the lounge to the right of the right stereo speaker facing diagonally across the room. If I am watching the news its own speakers will serve, or I may get away with a crazy voice placement - it has worked in other places.

Now, if I could get the right TV on wheels - a domestic version of a conference room TV I could wheel it between the stereo speakers for a serious session. Any ideas about what might serve? Ideally the back should be a clean as the front. Do such beasts exist? B & O? Expensive! Are there wheeled cabinets that would have the same effect?

Any ideas? Any suggestions? Any recommendations?

TV will be accessed using iPlayer via VPN through a UK proxy. That will be cheaper and easier than sat dish - at least a 3m dish is needed in Cyprus!

And of course I can watch DVDs and BluRay disks.

I am not interested in 5.1. My experience is that a good stereo is all that is needed.

I forget the maker (duh!!!), but there is a firm making just what you need using what I remember as 2" diameter chrome plated poles and available in different configurations depending on the TV and any other gumpf associated with it. You often see them supporting plasma screens on TV as they they can be easily moved about.

Some of the audio rack makers had a castor option at one time and one of these could possibly be adapted, depending on the TV - flat models really need some sort of rear support I suggest, if they're going to be moved.....

The back of any modern flat screen TV is the same - black, with cables sticking out. Nobody who buys B&O is 'wheeling' their telly around - more likely they will be installing it flush into the wall.

I know what you are getting at - you want something that does not look a mess from the back when you wheel it out - I think you will need a custom made cabinet to achieve this. Heat disappation may then become a problem, especially with a plasma

If I was you, I would get a Soundbar speaker (like Yamaha YSP-600) for the TV and never move it. ;)

I personally do not like them, but having said that have you considered a projector and drop-down screen instead of a "hard" TV ?
