Hi all

I've recently fitted my old SC35 on Marco's reccomendation onto my Rega / OL 250 arm, I set the VTF to 4.5g but for some reason when I lower the needle onto the record it skates across the record to the centre. I've tried the anti skate slider in all the positions but it makes no difference at all. I've not had this issue when I was running my Ortofon Rhondo cart so I'm suspecting it's either the stylus or the Rega arm is not compatible with the SC35, any ideas?

First, check that there is a stylus on the end of the cantilever !!! Then check that the cueing platform is clear of the arm when in the lower/play position.

Also make sure one of the wires is not below level of cart... I had this with mine initially as its a fairly big body

Well for some reason in be know to me it's now working, I put the ant skate slider to the top like I did before and this time it's working fine, very strange

If the cueing platform is twisted slightly, it doesn't lower all the way.

The SC35 shouldn't need more than 4g from memory...

You might consider the N35X stylus for you SC35 body, it's a better match compliance wise for the Rega arm and it tracks around 2.5 grams.
