I have recently after a long chat via email with SME decide to hunt down and fill my dampening trough on the series iii with 100,000cwt silicon dampening oil, for those of you that own an series iii or are interested in purchasing one in the future and are unsure of the effects of what this fluid does the answer is everything,

Seriously I was using an 3000cwt weight silicon oil before and the arm was impressive BUT since changing to the recommended consistency,

The effect, well all I can say is Wow Wow Wow, Truly an eye opener the bass has tightened the cymbals are more natural and the biggest improvement is the soundstage, big is an understatement, and vocals are so much clearer,

In all honestly the oil cost me 12dollars from a rc model shop and it's the best money I have ever spent, I'm still in shock that something so simple can make such a massive difference,

So if you have any reservations about what this little trough of oil is capable of, don't because you will be amazed....truly....
