speakers recommendation request for MARANTZ PM7200 amp

Hello! :-)

We're looking for speakers to be used with MARANTZ PM7200 amp and a Pro-ject turntable. Our budget is around £500 (not great, I know:-)
Could anyone recommend any floor standing speakers in this price range, please?

New or used? What sort of music? What is the size of your room and are there any limits on where you can place the speakers i.e do they need be close to a wall, free space etc?

When I had a 7200 it was teamed with some Quad 22L2's.

Sounded nice.

Hi Martin, thank you for your reply! Preferably we'd like new speakers, we listen to all kinds of music, but most often soul or rock, the room is 20 square meters big, the speakers would need to be placed by the wall. Thank you for your help!

So floorstanders, brand new, up to £500, medium size room close to wall.

Not sure I can help as I've not had a listen to anything current in that price range. No doubt someone here will have and can suggest some possibilities.

Google Audio Nirvana.. Their 8" drivers are a good value
Gonna be a helluva time doing substantially better without spending large.

They look in VGC and come with a 6 month warranty.

Had a listen to these in Beaver Radio in Liverpool years ago. Someone else's demo, I just sat in. They were impressive. You must collect by Monday or he will skip them!
