As you know.. Adele won 4 awards for her album 'Music for Funerals' and Coldplay won an award for releasing the same old chaff again and again.
Grr... I HATE the Brit awards as much as I do Adele's moaning and depressing music, but in a way... they are a perfect match.
I'm glad I didn't watch it, my telly would have had my shoes thrown at it.
New talent?... what's dat den?
Can anybody explain how Amy Winehouse got nominated for best female artist, when as we all know, she unfortunately has even dead for almost 5 years?
Because of the soundtrack to the current documentary film 'Amy'. That's what the nomination is for and it's a very good film too.
It may be a good "historical" film, but it is hardly new material.
Doesn't matter, it fits the category nomination and IMO it's worthy of the nomination. As a body of work it's new and has new content, just because Amy has passed has nothing to do with it.
I'm surprised you are struggling to understand it, or do you just not like Amy Winehouse?
I love Amy Winehouse, hate award ceremonies. For anything. What is the point of them?

With the exception of Gary Oldman's moving and personal tribute to the late David Jones which had me choked, the rest was bullshit. Ant and Dec were as funny as a cold sore. Adele, her music and her irritating demeanour could have soured cream and Coldplay???? well, they are well past Parachutes and fast becoming caricatures of themselves. The rest was banal pap. Rose scented bullshit the lot of it.

Very bland, and uninspiring - I didn't watch it.
