What power supplies are you using with your CCA fellas?
Wondering whether there is any gains to be had.

There is a really simple answer to this - and this is the great thing about the CCA - run it off battery power because it's simply a matter of using one of those portable mobile phone battery chargers. No fancy linear power supplies necessary in any way shape or form with this particular puck shaped streamer.
It will run for hours on end from one of these chargers - example here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Compact-20000mAh-Portable-Anker-PowerCore/dp/B00VJSGT2A/ref=sr_1_1/275-0360281-7833061?ie=UTF8&qid=1456390239&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+portable
 Haven't you just sold one Bill?

Just plugged into 'another' battery I have and sounding good. Probably added some 'body' to the sound.
Now why did I move on that Anker battery that benefited the Pi so much?
Given how much success I've had with the iFi power supply on my Raspberry Pi over the Anker battery, it might be worth trying one of these on your Chromecast:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/iFI-Audio-Power-Supply-Raspberry/dp/B017O38DEA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_23_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41oA2C0YulL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0E524794J36949AVSNZA
They seem to be out of stock at the moment, although the only difference between the standard 5V version of this PSU directly from the iFi website and what they label 'for Raspberry Pi' is an adapter to go from the round DC plug into a micro USB.
I might try my CCA with my MCRU Long Dog psu see if it makes any difference
