One of the most amazing pilots of the pre WW2 period, WW2 and after has died at 96. His book on planes of the Luftwaffe is the definitive work, as he flew them all, both production models and the experimental ones, including jets.

He holds the record for most carrier landings and planes flown.

I heard an interview with him on radio 4 many years ago and it was one of the most amazing interviews I have ever heard.

RIP Capt. Brown rest easy.

A total hero. RIP.
At least 3 world records I know of which will never be beaten! Most decorated Naval pilot ever. Much more to. He was somehow a bit of a diplomat or some such as well and was present at some major events of the war and I believe personally interviewed/interrogated top captured Nazis like Goering etc (don't quote me on this I'm not called Google! Just what I remember from a mega documentary I saw) and was also an early arrival at the liberation of Bergen-Belsen! They should make a film of his life story.

Yes he did indeed interview Goering, during the trials, because he knew him, having been in Germany during the years before the war.

Agreed a film would be amazing.

He was an amazing chap. Tested all the German stuff we captured bar 1 he said even he wouldnt get into lol."Thats a death trap" rip Eric
