Visited Brian today and met up with Gaz too to have a listen to his new Young Dac. Gary put it through its paces as he has one and uses jriver too. It was both enjoyable and educational. Alas no pics as we were all in dresses :eyebrows:
Well, the dac has really improved Brian's digi system tremendously and its up there with the top systems Ive heard...

some great music on offer too, plus, coffee, cakes, and pizza ;)

Thanks for coming over Grant . it's always a pleasure to see you . Happy birthday BTW :D I've been doing this file audio thing for 5 or six years now and for a couple of years years the Rega DAC has served me well . It's a top notch piece of gear . However when Gary brought his M2Tech Young DAC over a while back the sound stuck in my head , so when Mark Grant ( thanks Mark :) ) posted a sales thread for one of these DACs I jumped at the chance to buy it.
Luckily Gary was paying a visit to mine yesterday so I put his computer ( audio )skills to good use and he set it up for me . The Young DAC is now sounding excellent in my system and I'm well pleased . As I said earlier the Rega DAC is a fantastic piece of kit , however the Young DAC takes things up a notch or two . Future upgrades will be a Linear PSU and the cap mod once I find someone who can do it .
All in all I had a great day yesterday with Gary and your good self and thanks for all the help and advice Grant . Have a good day today mate . Don't eat and drink too much :D
It's dark o'clock here at the moment so I'll try and post some piccies later today . :)

Aye it was James . The little Nespresso machine was doing overtime mate . I think Gary had 5 or six over the time he was here . I did have a couple myself . There's no chance of it going bust through lack of use
Piccies taken today James , after the event I'm afraid . Grant did look rather fetching BTW

Yo Brian, your room's just TOO tidy! :D

Where are all the crumpled up Tunnocks Caramel wafer wrappers, remnants of regurgitated square sausage and spent cans of Irn Bru, such as you'll see in any other west-coast Scottish dwelling? You hid them out of the way of the picture, didn't you?

Seriously though, nice pics, and I'm glad that the Young DAC is hitting the spot. It certainly gets a good rep... Still don't see a T/T, though! ;)

Hah ! That was after your visit mate  Just as well Del was there to tidy up after you :eyebrows:

Seriously though I like a tidy house just as you and Del probably do :)

How did we get from new DAC to skidmarks again

Yes I do like tidy mate . In fact that's what my daughter calls me - Mr Tidy :)

The Young DAC has slotted straight into my system ( with Garys assistance of course ) and is sounding very good indeed . I'm well pleased :D

I've thought about a turntable mate but as my file based system gets better and better a turntable just gete lower and lower in my priorities :eyebrows:

Really appreciate this offer Ali , I know you've been '' under the cosh '' a bit lately so thanks for this . I'll be ordering some soon when I'm 100% sure what I'm ordering . I'll be in touch then , no hurry though as I'm enjoying the Young DAC as is :)

AOS at its best once again :D

Great to hear the Young is living up to its reputation. Have you not got caps you could use just now....that tartan number you wear would really brighten up the sound!!!
