new wireless mouse and keyboard wont work

i cant get the either the new wireless keyboard or the previous one to work. The previous one worked before but i looked to replace due to a stuck key. Not sure why they wont work :scratch:

Are they 'plug & play' items or are there drivers needed (on an accompanying disc or to download maybe)?

Both wireless mouse and keyboard combos have their own small dongle. As I say we've been using one of the combo's for ages no probs til I unplugged and tried the new combo. Neither pair want to fire up so to speak.

I suspect the drivers are in the device firmware and not installing or not being recognised. I'm assuming you use Windows. Are these items compatible with the edition of Windows you have?

(I hate wireless devices. They regularly throw up snags like this)

any time this has happened I removed batteries switched them off reset pc the reinstalled in a different port and windows re installed the generic drivers... you could go into system drivers and look to see if they are there and working

The light on the keyboard is flashing non stop but no action from the keys or the mouse....

is there a connect button on the keyboard? is it flashing fast or slow?

It is flashing fast. I see nothing called a connect button ...

Hmm... fast flash usually says im ready to connect... if its win 8.1 or win 10 etc it will have Unified Extansible Firmware Interface which is a pain and of course microsoft are screwing with programs etc.... other than what Ive said I cant think of anything else off top of my head

There may be a button to press on the dongle or the wireless device. Usually it's to pair them.

Got tired of it yesterday, tried all sorts today still cannot get either mouse and keyboard combo to work. A real pain, especially as the original one worked before. Never had this complete faff before with keyboards and mice, they would just work :steam:

Bloody Random !!!!! I put the new keyboard and mouse in another room after getting fed up with it all. Grabbed the old pair, realised I'd put the batteries in the new one so went to get it. Noticed it was now showing a green light. clicked the new mouse, it worked. Typed with the new keyboard and it's typed what you're reading :scratch: - No logic to it at all !
