What improvements does 1db efficiency increase bring in Tannoy speakers

I need help. I've been mulling over some some xo for the wardrobes (Tannoy 15mg in >300litre cabs) and pondered just what an increased efficiency of 1dbwould bring to my listening experience and the compatibility to other pieces of kit i.e. Speaker cable/power amp load etc.

1db extra in the midrange, all else being equal, may well reduce low bass by that amount.

You know, most speakers in the 70's, even if pair matched inside (not just the veneers), would have a sensitivity tolerance from pair to pair that could cover two or three db I think. I'm thinking of Spendor BC1's which were well matched to each other in the pair, but sensitivity could differ from pair to pair..

A 1db variation in sound level is virtually indiscernible. You would have to repeatedly switch the change in and out quickly to stand a chance of even detecting it. And you probably would not anyway.

And how does one determine that some MG Xover twiddle Will produce a 1db 'mids' efficiency increase' rather than a complete unbalance mess?

This thread was started after I spoke to Paul over at RFC. Paul made me a then Reference level pair of XO's for my 15"MG's. I've had these for about a year but Paul now claims to have the "Ultimate Reference XO", and one of the benefits of the new design is a 1db efficiency, I have no idea where this is gained. We need Paul to clarify.
