View Full Version : Wanted: Heavier Counterweight for Technics 1210 Mk 5
Hi,
Looking for a heavier counterweight for my 1210 Mk 5 (standard arm) as I'm now using a Zu Denon 103 which weighs in at 14g.
Anyone looking to get rid of one ?
Preferably in steel colour rather than brass.
Thanks,
Mike.
Speedy Steve can make you one if you know what weight you are after.

I checked them out last night, I'll try the sub weight first see if it does the job

As a makeshift you could use BluTack and washers - BluTack the washers on the rear of the counterweight, making sure that the holes in the middle of the washers are slightly larger than the hole through your counterweight.

At the moment I've taped a £2 coin and 2 x £1 coins to the end of the normal weight and this seems to work fine lol.
I've ordered a sub weight as a temp measure until I buy a proper heavier weight.
Well the sub weight was a waste of time, on the look out for something else now.
Try J7 at audio origami - he did a great one for my SME 3012 with a thumb screw for setting - superb work at fair price

I have one, made for my Jelco 750, carrying an Ortofon SPU
Upgraded to a Fidelity Research so both weight and the Jelco available
Does the standard arm have a similar diameter to the Jelco - or anywhere near ?

Hi,
Not sure of size but I think I read somewhere it was around 13.5mm but I don't know if that's right.
I might be interested in a deal for Jelco and weight if the price is right.
Pm me with a price and we can discuss/haggle/duel [emoji6]
Mike.
