It's malware, so treat with due care.

Yeah. I do the same. Any emails of origins I don't recognise get killed!

I've had a few fake PayPal examples. I told PayPal the first few times, but they seem mostly uninterested, so I no longer bother.

Can merely opening the email do anything? Maybe if you have html view selected and for it to download pictures?

I just use plain text for reading emails.
