Hi!
Johan here from Sweden. Turn 32 this saturday and my biggest passions in life are music and electronics. I renovate old stuff like arcademachines and jukeboxes. I have just finished renovating a Rock Ola 450 from 1974 and my latest project is an AMI E120 from 1953. I just looooooove the sound that comes out when you play an old single from the 50s or 60s on these machines. Wanda Jackson, Little Richard, Ray Charles.... u name it.
If i listen to music it's usualy from spotify but i always buy my favorite records on vinyl.
My system: Not worth mentioning. I bought it as an 18year old for the little money i have and i have never had the money to buy a new one. A yamaha reciever, no-name speakers and a busted up vinylplayer. Something else has always come up but i feel that i really need to upgrade soon. many times i wonder how a person that loves music as much as me doesnt have a system that matches it. So right now i am gathering as much info and money as i can so that i can do my vinyls justice by playing them on a good system.
Musictaste: I mostly say that i'm a rocker or metal-head. I have attended more rockfestivals and concerts than there are pages in the bible and can probably beat most people in a rockquiz. When i listen to music i often read up on the band and study everything from album artwork, bass tones to lyrics. My friends like to joke around on how much unnecesary info my brain has :)
BUT.. even if my heart belongs to rock n roll i still listen to pretty much everything. Yup, even Justin Bieber and One direction..... I know it's wrong but some tunes are so damn catchy! :D They don't last as long though. A Bieber song i get tired on after a week. A Queen or Zeppelin song is still as good today as it was when i first heard it in my childhood.
Since i don't know much about hifi i'm mainly here to read about other peoples systems and get inspiration.
Take Care!
