Hope your puss is still alive and well :)
That Elys really has to go on your Rega guv'nor.
Those SF's should be the last thing to go, as I reckon there's tons morte that they can give. You know where to come for advice, don't you

Yep, Hestia (it's the pussy's name) is alive and well. :)
You're absolutely right, I'll have to do something about the Rega. I'll wait to get Croft's pre, then get a AT440MLa at SoundHifi, then see whether I get a Croft's Power or another TT (direct drive).
I could change the SF's only for other SF's... perhaps some 2-way Guarneri Mementos... who knows ? ;)
Love the speakers :stalks:
Your rack, if I may so call it, looks even worse than mine, even if marginally. You made me feel good
Some nice stuff in and on it, tho. Thanks for showing ;)

 Yep, I do a lot of gear testing so it's kind of a permanent-temporary-one-on-another-as-they-fit on this... "rack"... :eyebrows:
The only things that don't move is my Denon amp and the TT.
Anyway, here are some more photos to share too (so you can put a face on the name and the family, although you may not care less :smoking:) :
With mrs and my son

... and family on holidays in Greece:

Any news on the arrival of your Croft yet Dimitri?
It will be fun to compare notes!
Martin
No, no news yet... :( I'll send a remainder to Glen today.
Nice pictures of your system, Dimitri - I also like your speakers :)
But for me the best picture of all is this one:

That looks like veritable paradise! I can just imagine sitting there eating some Dolmades, Humous and Tzatziki with pitta bread, and then perhaps some Kleftico and Souvlaki with a lovely Greek salad (plenty of Feta cheese and black olives), all washed down with a nice bottle of Othello!
Are you originally from Greece, because Dimitri doesn't seem like a French name :smoking:
Marco.
Yes, I was born and lived in Greece until I was 18. I came to France after my studies, when I was 22 or so. My family still lives there.
It looks like paradise... you're right. Thanks for your kind comments.
I can't wait for next summer to be there again. :)

Bad news, Glen had some metalwork supply problems. My pre should get a small 2-3 weeks delay...
:unfair:

I look forward to seeing those Croft amps in the flesh as well as hearing the system. I've a few bits and pieces to bring with me that'll fit at the bottom of Tasha's suitcase :eyebrows: if you want to try them out.
Tasha will love the look of the speakers. I may love the sound.
:)
I only hope we'll manage to take some time to do some serious listening and some tuning, because with all this work lately, I admit having let down my system a bit.
The week holiday will be a real holiday for me too !
In any case, even if it's not the best system in the world, you will see that it's a melodic system overall, with just enough precision (as needed) and a well-voiced, well-paced easy-to-listen-to character. ;)
(Btw: bring a couple of -your- reference CD's with you)

Will do! I guess you'll burn them to your computer.

Regarding your system, it's got valves! :)

Yes, it's got valves ! Four of them ! :)
Yes, I'll store them to disk prior to listening, so that you can appreciate the process from beginning to end. ;)

Mine don't go anywhere near the floor....the gear's far too high up in the air for that!!

Just don't even mention cables, please :)

Rearranging Dimitri's living room and causing Mrs Dimitri to hate me is not on the agenda.
Isolation of kit from vibration can work in conjunction with existing furniture... :upyours:
These Black Ravioli can be placed under a critical component like a preamp or a DAC.
Dimitri, I'll bring them with me and if they make a notable improvement to your satisfaction you can keep them! :)

Why not? I'll also bring some Mark Grant G1000HDs with Nutrik Pro-fi plugs. :p

I don't think we'll be trying them there because I suspect they won't make any improvement.

As with gemstones cables have many facets; one they share with rabbits and wire coathangers is they seem to breed, overnight, in dark places where you can't get to.
Is all. ;)

Arthur i think you have quoted two completely different responces from each other.

To arthur: a bit like silly cable sceptics.
Wrong forum cos here we DO go there...
All this reminds me that I have to make new photos with Glenn's amps... :o

You misunderstand - I am not a cable sceptic - just always getting tangled up in them, is all :) and they are always getting tangled in each other too...

Arthur, you need to dress your cables so they don't get all tangled up :p
Dimitri, we could maybe start a new thread next week.
