As I have a big itch to scratch, and am being nagged by the Mrs to simplify my HiFi, I am looking at swapping out my preamplifier package. Before I split it out I thought I would see if there is any interest in this as a complete package.
I have attached a few pictures of the kit (in-situ) to abide by the rules, but will get better pictures later if any interest is shown (after I have dusted the boxes ready for flash photography).

Pro-Ject Pre Box RS - RRP £749 purchased in Nov 2014

Audiophonics Linear PSU - RRP €200 (approx. £150) purchased in Dec 2104 -
(Being totally honest there is a slight problem with the voltage display panel having dead sectors, but does it not affect performance. It's only €5 for a new one. I just don't see the need to change it.)

Various valves (majority bought as "matched pairs").

Audiophonics Linear Power Supply Currently set to 20 volts

Description

Evolution of our previous supply, it is back with a digital display in a smaller package using the new PSU S2 module.
This new linear discrete stabilized 15V power supply is ideal for any audio device that requires this voltage, V-DAC, TA2020, etc.
This power supply uses a linear actuator capable of delivering 4-24 VDC (we can configure it to suit your needs to the voltage of your choice on request in comment field).

Characteristics :
• housing with 3mm aluminum fascia in Black
• Start-up via ON / OFF illuminated by a blue halo

Various 6922 compatible valves for the Preamp:
I currently have 1977 Vintage Russian "REFLEKTOR" Tubes 6N23P-EV (E88CC/ECC88/6DJ8 equivalents) fitted, and if selling as a complete package, I will leave these in. If not, I will put the standard Electro Harmonix 6922EH valves back in.
Other valves include:
2x MATCHED 1970's E88CC TUNGSRAM
2 x 6N23P = E88CC = ECC88 = 6DJ8 Pair Voskhod Rocket NOS valves
2 x 6922EH Electro Harmonix valves
2 x Tesla ECC88 "32" code valves.

Total cost of the additional valves alone was in excess of £150.

So, a total pre-amp package with enough valves for a bit of tube rolling - if you fancy it or plentiful spares.
I would like £550 posted (to the UK or EU) for it as a complete package.

I'll post up some better pictures if there is any interest.

Hi

I might be interested in the linear PSU if it could be used at 5v for a Pi which needs 5v 1.5 or 2amp I think

What price posted were you thinking.

Mike.

Mike,

Interest noted, but I would like to sell this as a complete package if possible.
If it does not sell, then I may split it but honestly I would consider keeping the PSU for my Caiman II DAC.
It's adjustable from 4 to 24 volts (apparently).

Hi,

Yeah no worries, I'll keep an eye on the thread.

Any interest at £525 posted if I also include some XLR to RCA MC5000 cables?

What input mains voltage is the psu set to run on? And what is the procedure for adjusting the output voltage?

And, is the original wallwart included?

Thanks.

230 volts.
There is a small screw inside, plus a small molex (?) connector for selecting the voltage range.
Let me have a look to see if I can find the original supply. I should have it somewhere, so of course it will be included.

Original power supply will also be included with UK, European and a third adapter (USA?).
The preamp will also be double boxed for delivery, in the original box.

I have just adjusted the PSU down to 18 volts. To do this I used the small screw on the blue block (pictured just above the transformer). I will check the audiophonics website, but I believe to go lower than 12v you will need a molex connector to go across Jumper 1.

From the Audiophonics website:

•Jumper On : Adjustable from 4 to 14V
•Jumper Off : Adjustable from 14 to 24V

It currently has no jumper fitted, so I will see if I have one around on an old PC.

Okay - I am thinking of splitting these out as there seems to be a lack of interest in the package.
The Pro-Ject Pre Box RS with the original valves (EH 6922) fitted is up for £400 + P&P, which includes the original box, remote and the XLR to RCA adapters.
The Linear Power Supply £75 + P&P, which will include the DC power cord and a Schuko or UK power lead.

The person who buys the Pre Box RS has refusal on the linear power supply.
I will be listing the valves separately.

Price reduction - £450 posted.

This will include:
Pre Box RS EH6922 and Tesla ECC88 "32" code valves.
Original accessories (remote + XLR to female RCA adapters). I will also throw in some MC5000 leads made up with Neutrik "BAG" XLR connectors and MS Audio RCA plugs.
Audiophonics Linear PSU

My new pre amp will be arriving soon, so I no longer need this.
