Lol, Alan... Has this been spurred on after your recent 'discovery'? ;)
Have you tried it - if so, is it effective? :)

Here's my 'lightweight' example. It works very well.

Yes but I haven't tried it yet. I tried the clamp plate from my RCM which is nearly 500g and that seemed to tighten up the bass a little.
Will try the lightweight today.

;)
Marco.
You have a light weight record clamp don't you Marco?

I'm liking the cost of your effort Alan!
I've recently purchased an SRM record clamp, I've only used it sporadically so far and certainly not done any back to back comparisons so its a bit too early to come to any conclusions on it yet.

Haven't really noticed any difference with the weight on or off. Will do some more listening with a 'helper' to place it on and off.
No doubt any sonic benefit, or otherwise, is going to be very much dependent on the TT mat, I am using a Sony rubber mat with large 'sprung' dimples.

I use the same Sony mat. One of the best with those air pods. Record is 'floating' on air. Had to buy a second hand ES turntable to get one.
