You know how it is ; the putative New Year resolution not to buy stuff this/next year didn’t really make it much past Christmas. With retirement due in the summer, the temptation to get the system fully sorted before then was too much. So, after a bit of a spree, here are a few things that need moving on !
Tag Mclaren PA20R analogue pre-amp. One of the first Tag products, a revamp of the Audiolab 8000Q, and with remote control. Six rca inputs, including 3 tape loops (the XLR outputs were a rare factory option and are not connected). Independent listen and record selection, and a very useful stepped gain switch, allowing you to match the preamp’s output to your amp and speakers. The volume button has no illuminated marker, so I stuck on a small, yellow paper dot ! It can easily be removed.
The pre was checked over by Kevin Green of the Audiocellar http://www.theaudiocellar.co.uk/ a couple of years or so ago and had some components upgraded.
I’ve had it for a very long time, where it has seen use in various systems but has for the last three years been the main preamp in the main (Quad 606 / ESL63) system. It comes with an Audiolab remote control, as I found it more clearly labelled than the otherwise identical Tag version.
It has been replaced by a Primare Pre32 to match my CD player. One photo here and a link to the album on Photobucket.

Primare SP31.7 Home Cinema pre-amp and processor (no onboard power amps). Bought recently because I was impressed with the Primare Pre32 to use in pure stereo mode via the XLR outputs to ATC active speakers. The stereo preamp section is essentially the same as that in Primare’s contemporary stereo preamps. It works very well and the numerous digital inputs make it a very useful piece of kit. It also has one fully balanced analogue input on XLR and balanced XLR outputs, as well as rca outputs. Because it’s an older item, there are no HDMI video connections, although composite, S-video and component are all well catered for.
Only selling because I found another Pre32 at a very attractive price. All the audio processing is currently switched off, and it needs connecting to a TV via a composite (yellow rca) cable to access the setup menus.

The TAG DPA32R previously advertised is also still available until I get it on ebay.
