Cheers for the link Grant, bit wary of importing stuff, a £25 pair of foam replacements ended up costing me £40 with ITax and "handling"
Ive bought 2 in past.. never got charged although took quite a while... even with the add on its still cheap enough and they are very good. Ive currently got a double version

Does not look like it is CE approved.

Mine is running my rpi and my phono stage.. 5v and 12 v, but can be set to various voltages.. quite good current handling it seems

That's the least of my worries. As it is directly connected to the mains, EMC would also be required.
a lot of the ce marked stuff probably doesnt meet the criteria anyway. Not sure how you go about getting the vast majority of Chinese companies to comply with CE markings.
I will destroy it immediately

The problem with many of these items that connect to the mains is that CE means very little. It only really refers to the likelihood that they were manufactured using approved materials and components. It does not guarantee electrical safety. Luckily this kind of design is relatively easy to check for safety. But things like batteries and chargers are more difficult to judge.

I've got a Custom cables DC1 I don't use. it's black rather than the silver ones on the CC website, It's 12V and works fine with a Amptastic with a 2.1mm to 2.5mm (or visa versa) adapter which comes with it.
£80 including P+P

Buying one is the only way I am going to have one today. Just got the bag of bits down to start building mine, having filed the last tax return, and I am too pooped. Gonna have to wait for later in the week. The PP3's are doing sterling service for now.

Bought the psu discussed together with a DAC from a forum member and have been very happy with performance. It's also been PHS tested by the electricians when I moved into halls for what it's worth regarding the CE discussion.
Thanks to everyone else who put thoughts and recommendations forward. Have decided to go with Jim's psu, same one as Grant and Sammy have - their homes are still standing
