Ok I'm trying my first post with Tapatalk here goes...
As part of my major clear out I'm listing my MF Xcans v3 headphone amp. I'm the second owner. When I bought it off the original owner I switched in 2 valves from my Opera Consonance integrated amp (sylvanian gold pins) assuming they would be an upgrade to the stock valves (Jan Philips). They didn't last long as I found it beautifully transparent with the stock valves. They are slightly lacking in warmth though, so if you want that a bit of tube rolling should sort you out (maybe Mullards?).
Collection is much preferred from North London but since it's boxed I would consider shipping. Price is £125 plus postage if required. Note the box got water damaged in the garage, i stress that the amp wasn't in it at the time!
Condition wise there are 2 small chips to the black finish on the top, one of which I covered with black marker, the second must have been since. Oh and I forgot a slight mod. Having never used the line out sockets (to insert into a tape loop if you want to use it off an amp, but even then you could (should?) miss the outs and just use the tape loop in when you want headphones and no speakers) and having read that it actually makes a rather nice valve pre amp, I disconnected the line out and wired the headphones out to them. So it can now be used as a pre too. Just a word of warning - it sends out a DC briefly after a few seconds (you can hear a mild "puff" through the headphones). So it needs to be switched on before the power amp. This is pretty standard for valve pres.
