View Full Version : Denon 301 mk2
Has anyone listened to the Denon 301 Mk2?
I was intending to try a 103 but the 301 is more suitable for medium mass tonearms where as I gather the 103 likes mass and performs at its optimum in a heavy tonearm/headshell.
The 301 may suit better but is it sonically inferior than the 103, where does it lose out or improve over the 103?

I've owned both. The 301 is a little more refined than the 103. It's OK!

Lol - what are you like! Decisions, decisions.... :D
Yes, I know the 301 almost as well as I know the 103, so will comment later, or preferably if you're near a phone, pick it up and call me (I'm in for the rest of the day) and I'll reveal all, as it saves all this typing! ;)

It works fine in my Mission 774 with a bit of fluid damping, but people would more likely use it with a typical Japanese detachable headshell highish mass arm. Something from Jelco maybe.
