Below is an image of the devastation to my living room after flooding. The rack in the corner contained all of my Hi-Fi gear. Fortunately, my Beresford Bushmaster DAC and Capella amp were on top of the rack and I managed to save them. I also want to thank Stan for sending on power supplies free of charge when I ordered replacements.

All you needed was a couple of fishing rods in there ;). Glad to know that at there is at least music for pleasure. That's going to take some time to put right again.

Awful thing to happen :(

I have seen water rising only once in my life and it scarred the crap out of me, as I tried to get my stuff upstairs. Your photo breaks my heart. I know some will say its only stuff, but its not, its your life and this is awful.

I hope you get it all sorted soon.

I had a flooded basement once-that was bad enough to sort so I can imagine what you are going through. Hope you are well insued.

Thanks for the supportive words. Much to my surprise ( such is my confidence in insurers) we are properly covered by insurance. At least this gives us the opportunity to start over. Dalek Supreme is correct, it may only be "stuff" but to see almost everything destroyed is a horrendous feeling.

At least I get to buy new gear, eventually.

My my! I haven't experienced anything like that and find it hard to imagine, even watching the news reports. You have my fullest symphathy and best wishes for getting back on your feet (I'm sure music through the Bushmaster and Capella will help out to some degree).

Looking at the photo as a photo, there is a still, poetic beauty to be seen with the speakers rising out of the water there..

If the water's still there, I'd invite the ducks in - it will be like a theme park to them, something never experienced before.
