Music First Mk2 full-width pre-amplifier

This is the version with the Mark 2 (25% larger) transformers with copper windings, plus remote control (volume only), housed in a full-width enclosure.

Features include a 6dB extra gain switch and comprehensive ground lift options, which are particularly useful in breaking any system ground loops.

4 pairs of rca inputs, 2 pairs of rca outputs, 2 pairs of xlr inputs and 2 pairs xlr outputs - which are all active at once, so can mix and match rca and xlr components.

Supplied with remote control and separate (small) power supply for the volume control's stepper motor.

Slight discolouration on rear left panel.

This is probably one of the best tvc pre-amplifiers around. Certainly, I found it an improvement on the (two) standard Mk1 versions I have owned in the past.

For sale £1400 plus delivery at cost (or collect/meet/deliver within 50 miles of Northampton)

the copper mark 2 I had recently and what a beautiful sounding amp . detailed and yet not a trace of fatigue
I would happily run one anyday and its rare to get a remote control included

Thanks Phil ... it is exactly as you describe.
IME, this is one of the few pre-amps I have owned which always seemed to improve the system, wherever it was used. Lower noise, more detail, accurate tonality, excellent dynamics, plenty of flexibility, ease of use .. the whole package!

This is my old one - five grand when it was new and to my mind significantly preferable to the silver windings version which I tried back to back against it ... Jonathan Billington confirmed as much in conversation saying to me he only made a silver one because people kept asking him for it, it's more expensive he said because of the materials (and no doubt a bit of marketing as well) but personally he runs the copper one in his home and demo systems, out of preference. He insists categorically that silver windings is not an upgrade for this product.

I found it absolutely superb. Reset expectations for me about what I should be looking for in a preamp.

yes I have had the silver mark 1 and mark 2 and found the copper one entirely entrancing as well and highly recommended

I had this very pre amp. in my system for an all too brief period of time last year. I also found it to be an absolutely superb sounding unit. Anyone who wants to hear what a passive pre can do wont find a better one than this.

At the asking price this has to be a stone cold bargain IMO.

There are..... Where?

Scroll down to where it says 'Galeria' ... photos are the same model as mine, but in silver.

There is no 'Galaria' - at least not when viewed via Safari, just a translation page and translation options.

The pics are there for me in the "Galeria', using Chrome. Maybe your ad block thingy (preventing folk's signatures on forums and such like from being viewable), are preventing you from seeing the pics, Mark? :)
