URL] for sale, vintage B&W DM3 dating from the late 60s.
all the drivers are fully functional, the bass surrounds have of course deformed slightly but extended use by myself has not revealed any problems.
the cabs are in great shape with no dings or noticeable scratches.
I had the baffle's off recently to spray the switches with cleaner so no probs there.

i paid FIFTY QUID for these a couple of months back and so this is the asking price!!

NIGE......hope the pics work, crap at this!!

That's a lot of speaker for a nifty! Those were regarded as 'monitor' quality in their day.

thanks...i took a punt on these from the dreaded bay a while back.
came from a old lady who's hubby had sadly passed on....never thrashed or bashed, hence the condition.
sadly i found the late 60s balance did not suit my twiddly diddly metal tastes so they are now slumming it on bedroom duties.
but....they make late night horrorfests a treat!!!

Do these have the tweeter attenuators on the rear?

I ask as if they do, I can say what great speakers these were back in the day, I had a pair powered by a Quad 33/303 combo.

yeas they do.
there is also a switch labelled 14k to take the coles out of circuit...at that frequency I would hardly call it a supertweeter.

price is now 40 quid!!

NIGE.

If I lived nearer to you I would have these off you like a shot. Have been looking for a pair in excellent condition for years now as I had always been impressed by their performance when they first appeared on the market in the late '60s, but could afford them at the time.

Now I can afford them but stopped looking when a friend sold me his DM2As for £50 a few years ago. They are now used in my second system.

Nonetheless, I wish you good luck with the sale - at £40 they are probably the bargain of the year! :)

I am amazed these DM3s have not been snapped up long before now. I love my DM3 - prefer them by some margin to DM2a and a nnumber of other highly-rated vintage speakers I have tried.
