We have a Samsung Smart TV (model UE32F4500AK) which has the most awful sound. It has an optical audio output and I'd like to use that to pipe the sound into a small bluetooth amp so that I can listen on my bluetooth headphones. Does such an amp exist?

If the headphones are bluetooth then maybe all you need is a bluetooth transmitter with optical input such as this ?

If you read the reviews some people are doing just what you are asking.

I've bought this one because it allows connections to two headphones. I'll let you know how it works!

Best

Well, it should have gone smoothly but it hasn't. The optical output on the back of the Samsung will not accept an optical cable properly. If I hold the connector down, I get sound, but, no matter how hard I push, the plug won't click into the socket. In addition, although Amazon claims "Connect to two headphones", only one headset at a time will connect. I've emailed Layen but not had a reply. The next step is to see what, if anything, Samsung will do about their optical output.

I would try a different optical cable if you can just to rule out a fault with the one you have.
Also some optical cables are supplied with a clear plastic protection cap on the ends, that needs removing if it has, many people forget to remove the cap.

Mark, that's it! The cable had plastic covers on. What an idiot I am. Mind you, I'm not familiar with optical cables so wasn't aware of the covers. Happy bunny.... Thank you so much.
