You can buy it all on ebay - it's in Canada. But the shipping charges are outrageous. The Accuphase is on there but you are looking at £2K

I'd like to know a bit more about the back story. Someone with what was once obviously a large retail store buys several million quids worth of stock and then it sits there for 30 years. I know the bloke mentions 'illness' but even so - who can afford to have that kind of money tied up for 30 years?

A hoarder's Graveyard of predominantly remaindered JVC crap ?
Which No-one was wiling to buy, back then, it being widely considered as substandard/low grade stuff indeed.
Yes there were a few straggler pieces like Denon and Nak... likely only a few though.
There are people/businesses that buy up Non selling stock for a Tiny fraction of the value and then try to sell it off .. or not.
Assuming the low prices paid there likely wasn't much incentive to move the junk out.. subsequently it inevitably became even more valueless..
Would have thought the decades accumulated costs of simply Storing the things would have forced a Landfill trip.
People can be very strange in their business decisions.

IF one wanted a piece of the hoard.. a Full refurb is required, as Capacitors (at least) are most certainly deceased.
Not gonna be a bargain methinks.

Yes, some but not everything. Same applies to all old stuff. Some stuff is only plain old, not necessarily vintage.. :)

There was a few bits and pieces that were interesting, and worth having, but most of it, well...
Sad to say it, but the time to have had this stuff was 30 years ago, and although some of us still own things from around this era, and older :eyebrows: To the majority, its just Junk. :(

Completely agree. However, by the same token, what the uninitiated often consider as 'old Jap crap' is FAR from actually being that! ;)

You can add Harman Kardon to my list. It is regarded as an American brand, but the lovely seventies electronics were made in Japan. I'd like to get my hands on a 402 integrated amp.

Also, Onkyo were world leaders in quality back then. An Integra 733 or 725 integrated would be a nice addition to the collection. Their spec was amazing at the time.
