thanks Grant..but they are the 4 point fixing..they are approx an 8 inch driver..I've got this pair of 50watt sp1063A's** and I've just put them in..and they sound wonderful...though a little under powered...I think I'd still prefer the higher wattage drivers..sp1039's are 80watts...and the 1054's are 100watts

No bother Alan.. yes, the magnet size is the difference in output. sound wise they sound much the same. You can fit 3 pointers if needed though. My big kef cara's use these 4 pointers and they are marvelous; and my IMF's used them too

If for the Darius, all of the ones you mention have different T-S parameters and wont integrate properly with the tweeter as acoustic crossover points will be out and some (1039 and 1054) are just not suitable for that cab volume. (I have tried several with the Darius as replacements). Best sticking with the 1022 or the 1014 if you can find them. The 1039s aren't suitable for the Darius cabinet size...too high a Qtc and it needs a larger box to work properly. I have rebuilt these using the 1022 and they sounded pretty good although a few crossover changes were still needed. They also sound best with Touraj's cone mods undertaken (easy DIY if you contact Touraj, he's a nice guy and I'm sure can help here).

The 1063a's are fifty watts and have the same parametres as the sp1014's..with the smaller magnets ....I've been advised before to try in a pair of 1022's...I was never keen about taking a scalpel to the driver..as I believe kef designed the drivers like that for a reason...I've had the sp1039's in for well over a year now and they sound exceptionally nice..but I must confess..the 1063a's may be stopping in...As they too..are sounding very well......I was a bit heavy handed with the volume control the other day...and alas one of the bass/mids decided to blow...( I suspected it was on its way out...it had a wee bit of coil rub) I will consider a pair of sp1022's If anyone has a pair thanks...

Many thanks for your input Paul..any other tips on the Darius will be welcomed with gusto..cheerz.

I have a pair of KEF Reference 103's which has the 1039 driver according to the KEF website --- but they sound pretty decent as a pair of speakers in my second '1980's system' and it feels wrong to cannibalise them --- but if you dont get any other offers for a while PM me if you like ..... have you looked on ebay

Images added so you can see if they look right --- I have removed the wadding in speakers to great effect ... and some commented (on another site ) tht it looked as though these had been recapped ..... a bit over my head to comment

Yeah Grant.. thanks for the offer but the baffles are cut/recessed for the 4 point B200..SP1054's would be the ticket...but I may have to settle on another pair of SP1039's.. I've contacted Chris...but it would be a shame to break those 103's..they look fine speakers...
