Selling these because they do not have quite enough power for my 86db Harbeth speakers, which love Quad and I recently managed to get some 909 Monos. So a reluctant sale. Tom's amps are incredible, I had a Jota and have a Vinyl 1 Reference.

I effectively had these made for the Harbeth. Never seen a polished steel pair in Europe, I bought these at auction in the USA, shipped them over and Tom completely rebuilt them about 9 months ago. Class A wired in Triode mode for the best possible sound, but can be wired for Pentode if more than about 40w needed. New massive Sowter output transformers to his specification, 4 and 8 ohm taps, new Mungdorf caps, one new board due to some cosmetic damage from an old valve, new mains transformers given came from USA. Cases repolished. A new matched octet of Gold Lion KT88 with a few month's use and a spare set of Tung Sol 6550's. Boxed etc.

They are basically the same as the Art Audio Opus 4, which I think are about £6,000 in a matt black case, this steel option would be at least £500 more.

These are a perfect match for Living Voice or speakers over about 89db, ideally 93db, depending on listening tastes. These actually worked very well with the Harbeth SHL5+ other than with some of the most extreme dynamics of classical music.

Looking for £3,000 or very close, which is rather less than they cost me with all the effort and they are effectively not far off new.

Those look lovely. Wish I had the cash spare.

The idea of these was to get a similar sound to the Art Audio Jota's 20w 300b-Xls class A zero feedback but with double the power. They compare very well, an achievement considering a new Jota (now called the Elise) is about £12,000.
