AIWA 6900 CASSETTE DECK... Aiwa's 1970's Flagship model

Selling this lovely cassette deck, per the title.

I bought a Garrard 401 about 6 months ago, and some other vintage stuff was part of the package.
I didnt try the other stuff, as it was really of no interest. Eventually I found out that this was a highly
regarded item, and I got excited.

However, it DOESNT WORK PROPERLY !!!

Ive now bought another cheap cassette deck, so have decided to sell this Aiwa.

It was the flagship cassette deck made by AIWA in the mid 70s, and has enough
switches and buttons to keep anyone happily amused for hours.
A lovely feature is the two sets of VU meter pointers on each chanel. So, 2 x red, 2 x black.
I think these are for average and peak, but not certain
The power connection is a funny little two prong device, and this goes into a Leak amp which was
part of the package.
So, at the moment, I am using this Leak to power it up. Im sure this would be easily changed to a
modern power connection on the AIWA.
Once powered up, the lights come on. When I first got it, the VU meter pointers were working/moving.
However in trying to get the machine to work, I fiddled with too many switches, and these pointers now
dont move. I dont think I have broken anything. Just moved the wrong switches.
Pressing the play button has no effect. It doesnt seem to work.
The fast forward and rewind buttons seem to work, but both stop working after 3 seconds or so.
It could be that my fiddling has knocked something/multiple somethings out.

HOWEVER, PLEASE ASSUME IT ISNT WORKING, AND NEEDS FIXING.

Here is a you tube clip of it in action. Really just to show you the double pointers working !!

My price is £75.

Collection from me would be great. Im in Lancs.
Or, Im up and down to Scotland a lot at the moment. I could possibly deliver there or on route.
Or, perhaps a Wam Taxi could be found to help.
Postage may be possible too.

If anyone also wanted the Leak amp, Im open to that. £100 for both. I have the matching tuner too.
I also got a Philips reel to reel player in the deal. £25 for that.

Beautiful decks these and great of you to ask a reasonable price!

I'd guess you've turned on the peak metering (which simply makes the needle stop at the peak level). Also you should note that this is a MK II with the infrared remote. I have a MKI which only has the wired remote option (if you can find one). I think the 6800 below on the MKIs had the remote too but oddly not the 6900 MK I. Mine also used to work but needs a new belt - a flat ribbon type.

Good luck with the sale.
