I think he was referring to his 3 litre engined Marcos sports car?

The bloke would fit in my 7, but he would need both seats.

You wouldn't want the seat next to him on a plane

Lol - just looked, and apparently it was designed in North Wales. It guess then it would be rude not to get one in the future! :D

Wikipedia does not tell the full story. Marcos cars were only manufactured briefly in North Wales. Nearly all of the design work was done in England, and all production moved to Wiltshire after a couple of years.

I mentioned the car in the context of this story simply because the height of the roof off the floor is only three foot, six and one half inches. So the driver has to be pretty flexible/nimble at the best of times. Also the seats are fixed to the floor, they don't move at all, so fairly snug!

I know that nimble/flexible requirement all too well.
Try getting in a 7 with the roof on.

You could try a Gilbern if you fancy a Welsh car.

That's an Invader III. Made about twenty miles north of Cardiff.

Quite sporty in its day.

A neighbour had an invader when I was a kid.
It sounded lovely, an stuck out as everybody else had snoozemobiles.

That is why I have the top down on my car as much as possible, so much easier for her to get in/out.

Oh my word, it must be the early seventies since I last heard the name Marcos. If I remember correctly it was an Essex 3.0 V6.

Had a S3 Lotus Super 7 in early 70's.
With the top erected, only way in Or out was on hands and knees. Not a lot of fun when the roads were awash.
Could also turn the steering / wheels and watch it all as being utterly ineffective due to Hydroplaning .. even at 20 mph.
Some memories are best left dormant :-)

I have an S3 now, but of the Caterham variety (same car) and I have never had to crawl in or out.
There is a knack to getting in or out with the roof on.
