Check out, on BBC2 tonight at 9.10pm, 'Leningrad and the Orchestra that Defied Hitler', where extensive reference to Shosty's 7th will be featured. Should be good!

Ah, missed that. Did you enjoy it, Marco?

I listened (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?13134-Spinning-Today-(Classical-version)&p=715191#post715191) to the Shosty 7 just a few days ago.

Yup, it was very interesting, Jerry, and gave a unique insight into Shostakovich the man, as well as his music, and just how influential both were during the war era. Some of the scenes of the St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra in action, conducted by Shosty's son, Maxim, were truly breathtaking!

You can probably still catch it on iPlayer :)

P.S The Leningrad recording you listened to is stunning, as I also have the same one.
