Office chair reccy?

Me too! Ive fixed min not too elegantly and am looking...aldi usually get good ones in in the hopefully not too distant future. Ive had this one for years and is used or was 8/10 hrs a day so will get theres again

Hundred, hundred fifty quid or so if its worth spending that to get summit better?
Spend a lot of time at my desk, so worth making an investment I think.

I recently visited my local Staples and tried every office chair they had on display.

I bought the Guiseppe (http://www.staples.co.uk/sku/cbs/411825.html?effort_code=WW&promoCode=989989999&find_number=411825&web_track_id=112332039&position_id=2&promo_code=989989999&lcb=10), easily the most comfortable one there without going over £200. The brown leather version is considerably cheaper than the black one.

Absolutley get a Hermann Miller Aeron second hand. This is one area where you should not ecomise. It's like bedding - you spend too much time in it to risk your back, neck etc. I insisted that my wife get one when she was diagnosed with slipped discs and her pain has diminished considerably.

Another vote for an Aeron. I spend all day at the desk, and being freelance never quite know what kind of chair I'll be given to sit on. 90% of the time they're crap. I bought the Aeron for about £300 secondhand (got a deal as I had two, and picked them up) and it's lasted well over 10 years with no signs of falling apart, despite being carted around in the back of the car. I needed to get a new lumbar support for it after about 8 years (the newer ones have plastic as opposed to the older foam that can perish) but it's the bee's knees as far as comfort goes. You really will not regret it - just make sure you know the size when buying, as they to 3 IIRC - I think mine's a B which is suitable for most. There are a lot on eBay for around £400.

Edited to say, I was prompted to buy this as I had a two-week stint at a client whose chairs and furniture were so bad (and ergonomically mismatched) I actually put my back out - eded up spending about £400 at an osteopath to sort it out, and it turned out I'd a longstanding problem due to sitting a lot. So in addition to the correct chair, make sure your desk is good and if you use a monitor it's at the correct height for good posture. It's surprising how many people get this wrong, and even the bet chair will be uncomfortable if the relationship betwixt chair/user/kit is wrong...

Ergonomics elsewhere pretty good, just the chair I think.

Most second hand office furniture places have a range. You won't regret it, but get black rather than beige - hides the coffee (yes, coffee) stains better.
