I have a mate and his Italian other half poppin over for a meal and drinks and to see the new year in of course :) He's a top guy and she's a nice girl who has taken to my Mrs  so should be a great night. She's been hinting at tasting some Caribbean food so my Mrs is gonna surprise her and oblige. There's plenty of Champagne and Prosecco for the girls, I'll pop the Sparkling Shiraz for me and my mate :glug: :)

Thanks guys, yes hopefully she will, I'll never hear the end of it if she doesn't - " I'm not spending New Year in bloody hospital" is all I've been getting for the last few days.. :-)
If they at all can they will mate. Like to have wards as empty as possible.
Enjoy yourselves all
All the best Ali, sincerely hope all goes to plan and towards a great 2016 :)
+1, Ali. All the best for her quick and full recovery!

I can imagine how she feels. I've said a quick one that she'll be home and that all will be well - amen ! ;) :)
Us? We'll be having a quiet night in, just the two of us with my dad (watching the usual Scottish comedies on BBC1 Scotland), unless anyone else turns up unexpectedly. If so, there'll be plenty of food, nibbles and drinks to go round! :)
We've bought some party foods from Waitrose, which we'll have with some Aperol spritzers, and Del will also be cooking a Parma-ham wrapped roast chicken, so we'll be nibbling on that whilst watching TV or listening to some music. There's Champers later, for toasting in the bells, and also some Single Malt whisky and vintage Armagnac, so we'll all just sit, fart profusely, and get merrily pished! :glug: :drunk: :D :eyebrows:

 love it. Good to keep it simple sometimes. I've stayed in plenty of years too, I like the idea of stress free, goodies and facilities at hand, seeing the year in at home and a quick prayer for good things and the year ahead :)

Not with your arse, you're not! :nono: :door:
Marco.
A quiet night in, watching a few movies (got to try out the new sub :eyebrows:), a bit of food, champagne for the Mrs and some Thatchers Vintage cider for me!
If you want a right good giggle, and can pick up BBC1 Scotland on your dish, tune into Still Game at 10.30pm, and Only an Excuse after it. In terms of the former, some of the antics Jack and Victor get up to are pee-soakingly funny, especially these ones - LITERALLY:

Change of mood here after yesterdays events which i am straggling to get my head around so here goes:
Went to work with my wallet in my pocket at one job left this one welling to get searched security but they were not bothered so in the mix of putting the wallet in my coat pocket zipped up and going to my second job and put my wallet in the glove box of my car and walking into work for approx less then an hour so went finished work went down to put petrol in and noticed that their was something not right with my wallet old bank card , Nat insurance and current driving licence was gone along with some receipts but how? we have checked the cctv at work and theirs only one person getting into a van but my car was next to took him 30 seconds in between but i cannot be sure i have no evidence rear passenger door unlocked so possible route but my car is covered by 2 big work vans so i have no clue as to if its lost or been stolen does not defete the fact they were in their that morning. Have reported driving licence as stolen and cancelled and renewed it again...i am going mad thinking it all in my head as they were in their as i check before leaving home their not in the car , house , if they fell out on the glove box the only place they would go is the floor ETC searched high and low....
Really crap ending to the year :steam:
Not good Dan. Sorry to hear that mate. At least you found out quickly and can cancel things. Doesn't help now but will in future as stuff cannot be used

Hi Grant,
It was lucky i needed petrol but its a case of doing what needs to be done and lesson learnt i will only take what i need from now on and leave the rest at home could of just been opportunistic or someone saw i put it in their on reflection it was stupid i should of took it in with me which is what i was gonna do but didn't.
i'm still running it through now and its not doing me much good...
Indeed it was. Wallet in front pocket or on my steel lockup. It only takes seconds

+1. It's always a nightmare when something like that happens!
Marco.
Had a visit from the Floyddroid today, good craic and tunes over mugs of tea and sausage sandwiches.
Tonight will be a nice quiet one for Mrs B and I. Thinking a Chinese takeaway, a bottle of vino and whatever music related stuff is on the box.
Wishing everyone on here all the best for 2016!
R
Watch the daft Scottish comedies on BBC1 Scotland, I mentioned earlier - trust me, you'll love them! ;)

I am keeping my head right down here
We are off to see Star Wars. No problems there.
I have managed to get in some Blanquette of Limoux - trying to save my poor wee behind. We like Blanquette - prefer it to Champagne usually - but we should have had almost limitless stock - it shouldn't have been "hard to get"
We WERE due to be at a New Years Eve party in our new village in France, to which we had received an invitation we accepted
Then my Dad phoned to ask if I could take him to Southampton for yet another cruise he is off on - on the 5th. I was explaining, it was ok in principle, but if there was a problem with the roads or the ferries we might not be back from France
Sue was waving at me, telling me about this meeting and that "baker day" she had . I put the phone down and said "I know your commitments. My problem is having wasted a week in France I am now going to have to waste another working day taking the old fool to the port"
I don't think "wasted a week in France" was the right way to express, "suffered some additional tension around this busy time of year trying to keep on top of work". Sue cancelled the ferry
Like I said - keeping my head down :o

G&T at the moment. A bottle of Fortnum and Mason Champagne is waiting to go on ice, and I've just noticed a bottle of Old Pulteney winking at me from the other side of the room.
Quiet dinner round a lady friend's, looking forward to dessert :eyebrows:. Cheers & Happy New Year all

As I have some sort of dreaded lurgy, which I can't pass on to Colin due to his supressed immune system, I am spending New Years Eve alone, I can't remember ever doing that... I have a drink on the go though which should help the evening along ;)
A Happy New Year to you all on AoS... :)

Absolutely. I'd like to take this opportunity [while I can still type :eyebrows:] to thank all of the mod team for their hard work and support this year, and the personal time that they devote here in helping AoS continue to be the friendly and informative place that it is (it's always appreciated, guys), which would be nothing at all, of course, without the continued support of our members.
Let's continue to work together in 2016 to strengthen and extend our community and make AoS all that you want it to be! I wish all of you a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year
Marco.

Nae bother, will have a wee dram for ye. All the best for the new year.
I did bugger all, except watch a movie and had a glass of wine. I feel great today and just went for a walk - I normally hate NYD as I have the hangover from hell, but I'm a healthy boy now :)
Glad to hear your wife is OK Ali.

We got through 2 bottles of Jack Daniels and had a celebration of Lemmys music.
Pre-munchies New Year's Day, chez-Marco (Ditton 15XRs playing some Frank Sinatra gently in the background, to help create a serene and cosy vibe):
