I had a pair of Christmas boxers from santa. Everyone else in the family has a Christmas jumper and was wearing it - so I went down in just my boxers. Bet I get a Christmas jumper next year :D

So where do you get 20 pairs from?
I only see 16 .....
20 pairs would be the thick end of nearly 2 year's worth of skiddies, and with a little bit of frugality you might just stretch them out for a full 24 months useage (you know the tricks - inside out every other week).

What have I watched, let's see:
Carols from Kings; had to leave halfway through as remembered we needed more milk
Some incredibly boring thing about sleigh rides in Norway, that actually just involved some women slowly trudging through the tundra for two hours, leading the reindeer. Was watching on iPlayer, so able to cut this down to ten minutes or so.
A documentary about Peter Kay, OK but too many shots of people telling us how funny he is and too few clips illustrating the point
Michael Mcintyre Christmas Show. Not much cop, really.
And that's about it, as far as I can recall.

I feel for you, as I detest 'Rom-Coms' with a passion - utterly brainless, baseless and banal SHITE, designed for groups of cackling women to giggle over, like demented halfwits! :mental:
There have actually been quite a few good (dark) mystery/dramas on TV, which have been right up my street, such as Hinterland, Dickensian and Agatha Christie's 'And Then There Were None', which concludes tonight.
I love all that dark, sinister type of stuff! :)

P.S Carols from Kings was great, too. Love the serene and uniquely Christmassy atmosphere it never fails to evoke.

I like Disney films, too. However, something like Terry Pratchett's 'The Hogfather' hits the spot even more. Love the darker, spooky and macabre nature of it... IMO, the BBC have excelled themselves with these programmes (those that I've just mentioned).

The wife likes all that '' dark '' stuff . Murder / type mystery programmes , true life or fiction . I like animated films . The story lines are often very good and the visuals are , in many cases , excellent . Why do you think retailers use this type of media to demonstrate their A/V gear .

She likes both mate , but prefers the darker stuff . TBH the TV is never on during the day when I'm in myself . It only gets switched on when the family arrives home , usually around 5 or 6 in the evening .

TBH I quite enjoy iy sometimes . She wants to go to Livingston and doesn't really know the road . Otherwise I'd be staying in and enjoying some 'down time' with some music :)
If you enjoy it, that's different. Too many hen-pecked husbands put up with being 'dragged around' the shops by their rather controlling other halves, which is something I can never get my head around... :scratch:

It will likely be busy Brian. Try parking at the retail and walking across to the mall. Can often get in there and its free or was. Its not much of a walk...currys and Maplins are there

If you want to spoil her, never mind Livingston, take her to Princes Square, and around Buchanan St in Glasgow. That's where the nicest shops are! :)
Many a happy shopping trip Del and I have spent there, and afterwards for nice lunch at Cafe Rogano....

She knows that area of Glasgow very well mate. Tends to go with my daughter though as I hate the place . I visit Glasgow once or twice a year.
Lol - you probably had enough of it driving buses around it, but I really LOVE Glasgow city centre, and miss it a lot since moving away, especially all the superb Italian delis and restaurants there are, which are rather thin on the ground down here... Oh, and not to mention, record shops!
Lots of nice memories too, of being taken shopping there with my mum as a kid, going to see Disney films at the Odeon in Union St, and wonderful department stores such as Lewis's/Frasers, and their music and toy departments! Remember buying lots of Subbuteo teams in the former. Happy days :cool:

The livvy centre is pretty good now what with the new section and the refurb of the old. Not my cuppa but its pretty good if you like shopping. Plenty bars and eaterys
Not been, Granty, but if it's just full of all the usual retail chain-type shops, it won't be our cuppa. We prefer the small, privately-owned shops and boutiques, where you get something that's different from the norm, and also well away from where any chavs are lurking! ;)

I know what you mean. I'm not big into cities either, but quite enjoy Christmas shopping (at times when it's not too busy) in Glasgow, especially in the late afternoon/early evening, just before it gets dark, it's cold, you're all wrapped up nice and cosy, and the shops are lit up and decorated all Chrtismassy. I love that feeling :)
I'm also with you in that I generally hate shopping, but do like buying nice things for the house (as I enjoy interior design/decorating), so love going round antique/bric-a-brac shops and picking up little knick-knacks, as does Del, especially hand-made bespoke stuff you won't find anywhere else. One thing we hate is buying commercial, ten-a-penny mass-produced tat!
Usually if Del wants to go clothes shopping in Glasgow (unless she desperately wants my opinion on something), she'll go away and do that herself, and I'll go round the record shops, then we'll meet up at the Rogano for lunch. I like to get there first and get the drinks in, so she's got something nice waiting for her when she arrives. It's a rather nice day out! :cool:

Thoroughly recommend Cafe Rogano then, Brian, in Royal Exchange Square (just across the road). Not the poncy seafood restaurant upstairs, but the less formal and much more relaxed cafe downstairs.
The food is truly superb, and the original Art Deco surroundings lovely. Nice warm and cosy ambience too, as it's quite dark and candlelit. The service the staff provide is also fantastic: discrete but attentive, and very friendly with it:)
