I need at least a metre of reasonable quality (colour coded would be good) tonearm wire.

Thanks Al. I know nothing about these things. Is tonearm wire likely to differ much or is it like the minefield that is interconnects?

I've dealt with this company many times and they're excellent . Website here http://wires.co.uk/

Loads of different high purity copper and silver wires .

Thanks Geoff, so are you able to say that for the money it ain't bad. How much do you need to go to get any better/improvement?

Rob.

I've used it in the past and the copper version. Works fine. I can't say if spending more will better it, but I doubt it. I've just bought enough to rewire my Mission 774 from cartridge to phono stage.

I should have a silver litz wire somewhere in cupboard taken from technoarm which your welcome to try. It was taken out by Audio Origami and replaced by a copper one but in the end I think the problem with the tonearm was a shorting at the cartridge tags ( if that makes sense ) Johnnie said I could put it on ebay so he seemed fairly confident it was okay.

Brian, thanks for the offer but I have pulled the trigger on the kit with the tags and heat shrink. Rob.

Rob

I bought some copper litz off ebay and had my 3012 rewired with it. Beware as its just too stiff, my 3012 is going to be redone using 3 strand silver wire from Hi Fi Collective, not cheap but I suppose you get what you pay for.

Got the wire this morning. As flexible as a very flexible thing:D Not much thicker than a thick hair and covered in (I belive) silk silking stuff.

Measured out what I wanted and got the Iron out. About 30 mins later all tickety boo. Can't test it yet as I have no cartridge:(....oh and the arm is still in bits:D

Anyone got a good cheapish cartridge to a Rega R200 arm?
