Unfortunately I would like a bit more space but the perspective on the photo makes the speakers look far closer than they actually are. I'm not looking to change anything unless my circumstances change dramatically but I've been gradually been moving away from valves over the last few years and would like to check out the Aurorasound Vida phono stage at some point.

That's a Living Voice SUT on the shelf below the TT which I forgot to include in my welcome post yesterday.

TT isn't as substantial as it looks though it's still pretty heavy. It's an Acoustic Solid Small - the entry level model in their all metal range. The platter is milled from a solid billet of aluminium which accounts for the weight. The arm is an 12" Audio Origami PU7 which Johnnie at AO finished to match the deck. Cartridge is a vdH Black Beauty SPX which feeds an Art Audio Vinyl 1 phono stage via a Living Voice SUT. Amplifier is a Modwright KWI200 integrated and the CD player an EAR Acute Mk1. Speakers are Yamaha NS1000M of course. Et voila!

I am interested in the KWI200, how would you describe it? the speakers that it would drive are Harbeth HL5+
have you had the chance to compare it to pre/power combo from Modwright (LS100 & KWA100SE for example)?

It's a shame you're over the other side of the country as you would be more than welcome to bring your speakers over to my place for a listen. I haven't heard Harbeths before nor any of the Modwright pre/power combinations but I'm happy to share my subjective views on the KWI200. A friend of mine recently bought over his Naim pre/power combo (not sure which) and it was an interesting comparison with the Modwright. The Naim gave an extremely clean, transparent and etched presentation but exhibited none of the harshness that Naim-haters like to level at the brand even through the NS1000Ms which themselves have a reputation for being bright with solid state amps. The Modwright though was more [cliche alert] valve-like in its presentation with warmer mids and not so much of the top end brightness of the Naims. Perhaps hardly surprising I suppose given Modwright is a predominantly valve-based brand.

Also I had the chance to spend an afternoon over the Xmas break listening to my Modwright hooked up to a pair of Tannoy 15" HPDs in narrow-style GRF cabinets. Up until then I had never understood why the dual-concentric Tannoys have such a loyal following as I has always found them a bit coloured and lacking in detail particularly at the top end. However, hooked up to the Modwright they filled the room with with a wonderful rich, full-bodied sound. Not the last word in detail but I found it highly addictive presentation.

So, take from the above what you will, but in my opinion the KWI200 is fine amplifier and I don't feel I'm missing out on anything by it being an integrated. BD Audio is relatively close to you in Malvern and Jack Durrant's a nice guy I'm sure he'd be happy to arrange a demo.
