I think 2015 has been a pretty good year for new music, certainly I've bought more new albums this year than I think I have in a while. Would you agree, what have your favorite new purchases been ?

I'm going to have a look through my rack (and tidal account) and will post up a few of my faves in a bit, so c'Mon everyone let's get a bit of a collective list going, maybe post up some YouTube links too? :D

Some great suggestions so far

My faves in no apparent order are as follows

New order - music complete. Never paid much attention to new order before but this is a great mix of electronics and rock.

Courtney Barnet - sometimes I sit and think.........saw her in town a few weeks ago and she was really good, hugely influenced by nirvana which is no bad thing.

Thurston Moore - the best day, if you like sonic youth you will love this.

Jamie xx - in colour. My most listened too dance album of the year.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress. Saw them live at the Albert Hall in Manchester earlier this year too. Thought the show was fantastic. What a brilliant venue it is. The best I've been in for mediumish sized bands.

Agreed it's a brilliant venue isn't it? Seen a few things there recently Super Furry Animals being a bit of a highlight.

Ha, yes they did. Seeing them live last month made me feel like a teenager again. Left the moshpit bruised and with tinnitus but loads of fun.

As for killing joke, I just love that they don't give a toss. Do their thing, be outspoken but you can't knock em. Also great live!

For me, this has to be 'Shedding Skin' by Ghostpoet but only on vinyl. A very close second is 'Hairless Toys' by Roisin Murphy also only on vinyl. Sadly, the CD versions are extremely disappointing in comparison.

I've had the new charlatans album on a lot recently. A massive return to form for them, hoping their gonna be top notch playing in liverpool tonight. The missus bought us tickets for my birthday.

It's a great album. Huge fan of theirs. They did go a bit samey for quite a while IMO...

I've only got it on vinyl so not heard the cd version. It's a superb album indeed. One of my faves of 2015.

The only 2015 released album (I think) I bought was Ben Howard's Kingdom LP and I loved it. Got some amazingly well recorded acoustic guitar on there.

It could've been 2014 ????? I'm going to sleep.

Lol it was released in 2011. I only got it this year. Still enjoyed it. [emoji12]
