View Full Version : Openly Baffled
I got these Lampizator P17's through a contact of Ali Tait's a couple of months ago. It has taken me to now to get them to my liking. Those who are aware of the design will see that there are some add-ons. I suspect that the SQ of this clip will not do them justice.

Oh I don't know Rob , they're sounding rather good , particularly the bass. I nearly went for these when they came up for sale but as per usual other demands on my meagre :( hifi fund put paid to that .
What work did you do on these Rob , and what were the resultant changes ?
What's the track BTW ? :)

Nice bass!
What amp are you using in the video?
S.
Hi Brian and Shane. I re-engineered the components in the crossover (values unchanged apart from the tweeter cap value) to give a better electrical connection and to enable easy swapping of bits if necessary. The bass crossover is completely separate to enable them to be run with another amp (the one on the floor). The Green Cone mids and tweets And the additional drivers are run by the Sony.
The track is from Bill Laswell - In Dub (2015 album) I first came across him years ago when he did an album called something like Bob Marley - Ambient Translations in Dub.

Thanks Rob , looks like you've had your work cut out . At least the work has rewarded you with a sound you're happy with. :)
I'll have a look on Spotify for the albums . Ta :)
Nice. Do you have any stills we might peruse please?
Andrew. I will take some pics.
I have been following Lampizator stuff for years...Very inspiring stuff.
I would love to have a go at on his speaker projects P17 looks to be a pretty simple one.

I have the P17's. It depends what your wood working skills are like. However they are stupidly easy to build, and the sound that comes out of them is stunning. I've had mine for years now, that's coming from a speaker swapper .
Always fancied hearing a set of p17's. surprised OB's are not used more tbh
