I bought one of these amplifiers some time ago (I believe from this forum), I never even got to unpackage it for various reasons.
I offered to loan it and some speakers to a friend of mine as I knew he'd appreciate a decent stereo and all he had at the time was a digital radio. After only two songs of which he enjoyed immensely the amp blew up! He replaced the fuses which enabled the amp to be turned on again, unfortunately only one channel now seems to work correctly and after a short period of time there is more smoke.
He's brought it into work and we've just taken the case off and I immediately saw two resistors in very bad shape, these are near to T13 and T14 printed on the board on the left channel. I do have pictures which I will upload when I get chance. We've done a quick check cross referencing the right channel which appears we have 2 blown 100 ohm resistors (Located on R43 and R47 on the good side). The strange thing is there's a bit of sanding to the board directly underneath both these resistors which suggests they've previously been replaced. I don't want to go ahead and replace these resistors for the exact same thing to happen so what should we do? Unfortunately we're both mechanical engineers so electricals are a bit like white mans magic to us!
