Not something I usually do, but I have allowed a friend to borrow my Albarry AP11 Pre-amp and MCA11 head amp.
So I don't have a system at the moment (boohoo).

If anyone is interested I am willing to lend out my Albarry M1108 Mono-blocs to a responsible AoS member, I will deliver within 15 miles of Ramsbottom Lancs.

Albeit these are Series 1's they still sound great to me.

PM me if you are interested.

cheers Al

Well done Alan, that is a nice gesture, you do not have a Michell Orbe/SME V/ Lyra Etna laying around do you?:eek::)

Al, maybe I can help.

Would you like to borrow a little integrated to tide you over.

I have a spare Audio Innovations Alto. It is the early/best one. i dont know your speakers, but if they are not too demanding, this would be ideal.

and yes, I would love to try your amps, if that works for you ( you can borrow mine whatever.)

We could do a dodgy exchange in a dodgy motor way car park somewhere.

let me know

A shame I'm so far away from both you and hifi_dave for things like this :( Of all the solid state amps I've heard, the Albarry's are the ones I keep coming back to as a reference overall (why I like the ones I make so much, as they remind me of the Albarry's I've heard, but on a slightly smaller scale).

Albarry amps are amongst the very best at any price, it's just a pity they are not widely appreciated.

I really try to be true to what I hear and what I've heard, as good as my Series 1 amps are, the Series 2's are in a different league, accepting I haven't heard every thing, over 40 years I've heard a lot of top range audio products and to date I haven't heard anything superior to the M1108 Mono-blocs, even at a lot more money.
TBH, I have heard a pre-amp superior to the Albarry AP11 and that was the Nagra Jazz, superb delivery, loads of headroom, effortless performance, absolutely loved it, however, compared to the £2,495 of the AP11, the Jazz was £9,000 and without a phono stage.

It's no secret I am a big fan of Albarry and I would like others to hear the musical connection.

Enjoy your music :)

cheers Al
