Best replacement caps for old ELCAP & FILMCAP caps

I'm in the process of doing up some old speakers. I'm doing the XO's at the moment. I have the cap values. I intend to remain true to the speakers design and voice characteristics. I don't want to experiment but I do want the best replacement caps at a reasonable budget. These speakers are a fun project. I'd like to improve the tolerances of the caps. The caps are mainlt ELCAPS (x5), FILMCAP (x1), a mysterious lime green thingy value 3.3uf 10% tolerance 63V and three additional caps x2 with the writing "ERG 58 ER 15R 5%" and final cap x1 "ERG 58 ER 5R 5%", so all in all 10 caps to replace. I think I'll probably leave the inductors. Any info, tips would be most welcome... :)

Mundorf ECap + PP bypass is the best Elcap replacement I've used so far.

ive been using alcaps for replacement when elcaps are standard,ive recently used mundorf Ecaps for the mid section in my ditton 44's with a 1.uf pp and really like what i hear so another thumbs up for mundorf.

Yep I know! I dont really want to mess around with the "voice" of the speakers hence plumping for Alcaps. Cost also has an implication :rolleyes:. I've got a new set of XO's on the boil, a new SUT, and a new mega upgrade for the croft!!!!

Another vote for the Mundorf Ecap when replacing Elcaps if you want to keep the voicing unchanged.
Thats my experience and they are reasonably priced.
If in the signal path, I've not found Alcaps to be very good, but ok for shunt duties. Mundorfs sounded similar to Elcaps in my application (66's).

But it could be different with your circuit. :)

The speakers are an old pair of completely knackered Heybrook HB2's. This is my Xmas 2015 project.

I would like to add another vote for Mundorf ECaps, I recently used them in place of ageing Alcaps and I really liked the results. I usually use Alcaps from Falcon but these are great.

I eventually put Mundorf caps in the speakers and very good they sound too!
