Nothing particular on my radar.
Nothing - I've done all my Christmas shopping.
For the past seven or so years, I have stopped shopping on the Wednesday before Black Friday and I only resume in January. Works very well for me and my family.

A Smartphone to film and laugh at all the chav-idiots fighting over a collection of shite, disguised as 'bargains', like uncivilised animals! ;)

The clue for me is in the name, Black Friday.... Suggests something to be avoided.
I've a rare day off work tomorrow and Mrs B and I are heading to town. Not for shopping but for a lunch at our favourite Chinese restaurant, a few beers and perhaps a visit to a couple of record shops.
Not because it's black Friday as such, more because it's the only day I can get before f##king Christmas to do something nice with her.

Sorry, please explain (without being flippant) why anyone NEEDS a huge flat screen TV, or such like, to survive?
I could see the point if these "poor bastards" were homeless/starving, and someone was offering them permanent free food and accommodation, then they would have my sympathy and an excuse for their rabid behaviour, but otherwise there is simply no justification whatsoever for the type of stampeding animalistic free-for-all, we all witnessed at last year's event, fighting over what is, at the end of the day, non-essential frippery.
That's the problem with promoting 'aspiration': it creates greed, and encourages the gullible and vulnerable into leading lives they can't afford - and that's an ugly and also dangerous thing.

Quite a lot of people are ordering online. It makes sense to have it delivered instead of harking it about through the crowd.

I just dislike the whole 'greed culture' this type of stuff promotes.

Well, I'm intensely irritated with it all. I had a new dress lined up for Mrs. B's Christmas present but thought I'd be canny and hold off until today to see if the retailer would offer any discounts. It turns out they are - 30% off!
Unfortunately, the dress is part of their brand new range and has mysteriously been removed from the main website where it has been prominently featured all week, so that it now only features in the "coming soon" page. I am not amused... :steam:
Does the store concerned have a retail premises near you, Adam?
If so, go along and ask to speak to the manager, and see if there's anything they can do. Or phone the store, at the contact number provided, and do the same, outlining the situation. Don't just sit back and allow yourself to be penalised....
You may be surprised at the result you get! ;)

As for the gullible and vulnerable, look all around you...... There are also plenty of 'aspirational/materialistic types', living way beyond their means, because they feel that they're 'entitled' to a lifestyle, which unfortunately their income/bank balance won't support.
We chatted about this in the car on the way to NEBO, where it appeared we were in agreement.

The tv stick is quite good..got one and also a box which is even better. You really need prime to get the best out of them though

Just a video and audio streaming device. You get amazon stuff plus apps like bbc etc... A Smart Smart Stick. Very smooth and flawless in operation and setup. Best ive seen by far.

I'll mainly using it for BBC iPlayer and a few other things so I don't see myself signing up to prime. Plenty of music to listen to rather than watching a box ;) Anyway this is an easier and cheaper option than buying a dedicated device required to link our Blu Ray player to the wi fi.

Had a Chromecast for the last few years, with showbox and allcast as on the phone it's all you need.
Now also has Spotify and the new ones do optical out for connecting to a dac. Simple easy streaming and lots of movies and shows too.
Worth the 30quid or so at any time not just on shopping day.
I do need to figure out a way of getting Netflix before 'proper' Top Gear starts on there.
More like getting yourself a car, so you can properly relate to what Top Gear is about! :eyebrows: ;)

A lot of the deals have been done online. Many shops having learned the lesson i think. Not really THAT in need of anything that i am going to battle with folk to get to it first.
I have been inundated with black deals all week from pretty much everyone ive ever bought from and many ive not.

Glad to hear it, and *that* is precisely how it SHOULD be. There is no excuse for supposedly civilised human beings, behaving like herds of cattle, simply to be first to nab a 'bargain TV'! :mental:
I'd be there, armed with a water canon, supervising the f*ckers, and if any of them stepped out of line, I'd succumb them to likely the first wash they've had in months!! It's not called "Black Friday" for nothing :lol:
