It has the same GPIO pin configuration as a standard Pi, but you'll have to solder the pins on for the dac to attach to.

Some of the dacs on ebay have flying leads so you could just solder those to the appropriate holes on the board.

I think the only fly in the ointment (for some) is that there is no ethernet socket on this device (that I'm aware of at the moment) so it will probably need to be networked wirelessly.

of course, while the board is only £4 it's because they've taken off all the sockets and you'll probably find that you need to spend a few extra quid on things like a usb hub to make it really useful, but let's not forget this is primarily a project to put computers in to the hands of children, not to provide us with great hifi, that's just a bonus!

It arrived today, it's proper diddy! But whadyaknow it works just like a regular pi.

I've borrowed the micro sd card from my phone and chucked the http://dietpi.net jessie image on there, 10 minutes later I've got subsonic up and running.

The funny thing is I'm running an oldschool belkin wifi adapter and it's as big as the computer itself!

My Pizero came at the same time as my latest Audiophonics Pi streamer (http://www.audiophonics.fr/en/diy-dac/audiophonics-raspdac-kit-diy-network-player-raspberry-pi-20-dac-sabre-p-10384.html) (OK - I'm getting a little addicted to building these little streamers). So the Pizero is second on my build list. I'm wondering what it will sound like coupled to a Chord Mojo.

Yeah, it's just a lightly overclocked model B with all the IO stripped off it so all the regular pi compatible stuff will work on it, soldering the gpio header on to it is quite straightforward (if a bit fiddly). I've damaged mine at the moment, trying to solder a usb hub directly on to the test points on the bottom of it - it will work but they're super small.

I'm a bit confused by the listing for the Audiophonics streamer you linked to. One of the pictures shows it with the their regulated Pi supply connected but I'm assuming this is not included with the kit??

If so - it would be the billy bargain of the century!!!!
