Can i remove capacitor C1 when using Paul Hynes PSU?

Installing the etp platter, I think I have to remove C1 as it is to big for the etp platter, can i remove it providing I'm using a SR3-21 PSU.

Well I unsoldered it and the platter still turns okay!

Andrew,
The capacitor C1 is not needed as it forms part of the 21V supply which is now supplied by the Paul Haynes external power supply system. In fact I believe some people even remove all the other components associated with the generation of the DC voltage although I don't think this is imperative.
