Monarchy 22a and Digital Interface Processor (DIP) for sale. The DAC is in superb condition and perfect working order. The DIP has 3 marks (more like faint stains) where something with foam feet once stood on it.

the DIP is only working through the optical input but works fine. This is as it was when I got it from Rick E

Price for the DAC then £200 with the DIP included. inc Shipping

This is a class dac.

Ooh. Bargain alert!

I have two of these DACs, M22B and M22C and my mate has the M22A. They are bloody marvelous! Better than the excellent Thetas I was using before them.

I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks for this. I've been after one of these for a while. I'm looking forward to hearing it in my system. (And, yes, it's all Geoff's fault!)

I leave it on 24/7 unless i'm not going to use it for some time. imo it sounds better once warmed up

Yes. I don't leave mine on permanently, but it sounds better and better, the longer it's on. (bit like my Graham Slee phono stage)

No. No, you didn't. I am impressed already and it's probably still just settling and warming up. :D

It's a great bit of kit!

I'm more impressed than I expected to be. It is noticeably better than the Theta. I'll let it settle in a bit more and then see what happens when you put two dips together in a line between the transport and the dac.

The Theta DACs sound vastly better than the various DacMagics and the like, but the Monarchy Audio DACs take things to a new level! Been there, done that!!

If you are using an optical link on one of the DIPs, it won't sound as good. Two DIPs should not be an improvement over one, but what does add something, is using a Theta TLC jitter buster before the DIP. In theory, it shouldn't, but it does. Even better is also adding a Musical Fidelity X10-D buffer between the DAC and preamp. The early one like this:

Yes, I know it's just an old and relatively cheap valve buffer, but it works!

Don't ask me why this all does what it does, but it sounds bloody marvelous with my Meridian 507 and Pioneer PD-S505 Precision used as transports. if I take any of these links out of the chain, the sound seems less good.
