Me and my mate were at the right place on the right time.
We bought about 45 reel to reel tape recorders today.
These are from university. Used to record and analyze spoken language.
All had maintenance reports and regular maintenance.
They are in Helsinki.

Of course I feel chuffed.

We have many retro Tandberg recorders.

The high end is:
7 Revox (PR99, C 270, B77 etc.)
2 Studer B67
1 Otari MX55
1 Lyrec
5 Better Tandbergs

Here a couple pictures:

Tallinn is just 80 km from Helsinki. Ferry over Gulf of Finland.

I don't know if I am even allowed to have one recorder at home. Currently allowed 4 large speaker sets in the lounge.
Have not told wife that we bought these.

This post ought to be in 'The Show Reel'.

Nice find ... makes me wonder what might be stashed away in the cupboards and store-rooms around the university where I work.

We have to sell many tape recorders.
Testing the 15 high end ones is going take some time.

I have to find some Tandberg collectors.
We have 10 portable Tandberg 11 machines.
This is known as the poor mans Nagra.
It is a half track mono recorder. Used by many radio stations including the BBC.

Here is a nice retro picture:

Yes, the Tandberg 11 was a nice machine; it could take 7" spools, whereas the Uher machines (which were more popular with the BBC) were limited to 5" reels.

May the force be with you Juha, you will need it in the days to come.
