cartridge allignment protractors

Hi all,

I have just acquired a Stilton modified Nagaoka MP-11 boron and am going to fit it onto my Thorens TD160. It has the stock TP-16 arm.

Is there a specific allignment protractor that will work better for this arm/cartridge or will they all do the same job?

If you want to get really geeky, the tools on VE allow you to see exactly how much tracking error occurs with different alignment methods. I have a Clearaudio alignment jig and that takes all the geekery and guesswork out of cartridge alignment, and other jigs like the Dr Feickert one will do exactly the same thing.

Had both Clearaudio and Dr Freickert, both are superb. They are hard to justify for the bloke who buys one cartridge and uses it till it wears out, but for inveterate fiddlers like me who enjoy buggering about with tonearms and have a dozen cartridges on the shelf (not counting the ones on headshells at the moment) they are a godsend.
